Ongoing ICMI Studies

The volumes resulting from the ICMI Studies appear in the New ICMI Studies Series (NISSpublished by Springer under the general editorship of the President and the Secretary-General of ICMI. 

Twenty-three studies have been completed.

Four ICMI Studies are currently in process:

ICMI Study 27

ICMI Study 27 “Mathematics Education and the Socio-Ecological”

The study has been launched by the ICMI Executive Committee during its meeting on April 28, 2023.
The two co-chairs have been appointed: Kate Le Roux (University of Cape Town, South Africa) and Alf Coles (University of Bristol, UK).
The International Program Committee (IPC) will be nominated soon. Its first role will be to produce a Discussion Document that should be made public at the end of 2023 or early in 2024.

ICMI Study 26

ICMI Study 26: Advances in Geometry Education

In September 2022 the ICMI EC announced the launching of the 26th ICMI Study on Advances in Geometry Education.

The Discussion Document (DD), details the study and is a call for contributions.

The first IPC Meeting took place in Valencia (Spain) on February 23-25, 2023. The IPC as well as the ICMI President and ICMI Secretary-General ( ex-officio's and Series Editors) participated in the meeting.

The first meeting of the IPC took place in Valencia at the end of February 2023.

The Study conference will be held in Reims (France), on April 23-26, 2024.

The deadline for submitting an 8-page paper is September 15, 2023.

ICMI Study 25

ICMI Study 25: Teachers of Mathematics Working and Learning in Collaborative Groups

In November 2018 the ICMI EC announced the launching of the 25th ICMI Study on Mathematics teachers working and learning in collaborative groups.
